Sarah's Oil Movie

Last night our chapter united in celebration of Black excellence in film. We were honored to attend the opening weekend of Sarah’s Oil, a remarkable true story of faith, legacy, and triumph. The movie is directed by Cyrus Nowrasteh and starring Naya Desir-Johnson as Sarah Rector, alongside Sonequa Martin-Green and Zachary Levi.

Sarah’s Oil reminds us that when faith meets the impossible, God still makes a way. The film beautifully honors our history while inspiring future generations to walk boldly in purpose and possibility.

Supporting Black films like this matters, not only because representation is powerful, but because our stories deserve to be told, celebrated, and preserved. Every ticket purchased sends a message that these narratives matter, and they belong on every screen.

Let’s continue to show up, support, and celebrate Black storytelling in all its forms. If you haven’t seen Sarah’s Oil yet, don’t miss it! Let’s make a difference where it counts — at the box office and beyond.
