MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
This month, we recognize the importance of Mental Health Awareness Month. Let’s raise awareness surrounding those living with behavioral or mental health issues, reduce the stigma that many experience, and acknowledge the vital role mental health plays in our overall health.
The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of more than 17,000 professional women of African descent in 299 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
Our core values are friendship, integrity, honesty, service, commitment, family relationships, courage, respect for self and others, legacy, confidentiality, responsibility, and accountability.
Globally, The Links contribute more than 1 million documented hours of community service annually by strengthening our communities and enhancing the nation through outstanding programming and five facets: Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services and Health and Human Services.

Mental health is a critical aspect of overall well-being, and it's essential to recognize the unique challenges minority communities face. Let's work together to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and ensure that everyone has access to the mental health resources they need.

The Links, Incorporated celebrates HBCU Awareness this month. Since the mid-1800s, Historically Black Colleges and Universities have contributed to the transformation of America. Supporting HBCUs today helps increase our community’s impact tomorrow.
Carlisha Williams Bradley is honored as a 2024-2025 Obama Foundation USA Leader. The Obama Foundation Leaders USA program is a six-month, non-residential leadership development program that seeks to inspire, empower, and connect emerging leaders across the country.
Nicole Washington, DO, is honored as a recipient of the Her Story Angel Award! This award is one of the Alzheimer’s Diversity Outreach Services' newest recognitions, highlighting and celebrating women whose commitment to service and community is unwavering.
In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, the Tulsa (OK) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, partnered with Dress for Success Tulsa to spotlight Jennifer Bent, a leader who impacts communities of women in Tulsa.
